Antonio Arrieta
Antonio was an Artist-in-Residence at the Eldorado Springs Art Center in 2019 and 2020.
Antonio Arrieta is a Colombian artist currently working and living in Colorado United states of America. Born in the city of Barranquilla, Colombia, in 1951. He graduated from the University of Atlántico Bellas Artes faculty in 1972, with a degree in Fine Arts. From 1993 to 1998 studied art history, fine arts, theatre and humanities, receiving a Master’s degree in humanities from the University of Colorado with an emphasis in Fine Arts and theatre. He has been an artist and a teacher exhibiting his work in many cities, galleries, universities, museums, and communities’ art centers, small towns, in countries around the world, especially in Colombia, Europe, and the United States.
Antonio came to the United States after winning a second prize in art from the Institute Colombiano of Education and technical studies in the exterior, to study and to visit art schools, museums, and galleries in the United States. However, after visiting the United States and Canada, he chose to extend his travels to Europe living in Switzerland and France for almost four years. While abroad, he traveled throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Back in Switzerland, he decided to go back to the United States in Colorado, traveled throughout the States, Mexico, and South America.
Now living and working in Colorado, he will continue promoting his art, teaching, and producing new pieces.
