Artist Bio

A precocious artist nicknamed "The Kid" because of his painting success at an early age – he was 7 when his first painting was chosen for an exhibition. Vinent, 25, was born in Guantanamo Province. He studied with one of the Cuban masters, Orlando Piedra, and when he was 14, Vinent was selected for the Guantanamo Provincial School of Plastic Arts. After early experiments in Cubism, he has turned to more figurative painting, often with a meaning hidden within the painting. Jorge is part of the new generation of artists who came to age after the "Period Especial" that began in 1991. They bring a different perspective to their art.
